EXECUTIVE DIRECTOR – (Position Closing June 30th)

WHO WE ARE:

The Free Medical Clinic (FMC) is a fast-growing, dynamic provider of high quality health care services to uninsured residents of the City of Winchester, Frederick and Clarke Counties. We work to provide access to health care and related resources so that our patients can lead healthier lives.

POSITION SUMMARY:

Reporting to the Board of Directors, the Executive Director (ED) will have overall strategic and operational responsibilities for the Free Medical Clinic’s staff, programs, expansion, and execution of its mission.  The ED will ensure ongoing local programmatic excellence, relationship management, rigorous program evaluation, finance and administration competencies.

DUTIES INCLUDE, BUT ARE NOT LIMITED TO

  • Recruit and retain employed staff & volunteers; provide orientation & training; evaluate and mentor said staff
  • Convene and lead the senior management team to ensure delivery of quality services and program in line with funder requirements and clinic strategy
  • Maintain administrative reports and statistical information on all aspects of clinic programs
  • Maintain and expand relationships with key FMC partners. Identify opportunities for new partnerships
  • Represent the clinic at external meetings
  • Aggressively seek new business development opportunities that fall in line with the mission of the FMC
  • Plan and assume responsibility of compliance for all legal requirements of clinic functions and programs within the physical facility
  • Liaise with the Board of Directors keeping them frequently apprised of all activities at the FMC
  • Preparation of, and adherence to, approved annual budget

The ED will be thoroughly committed to the Free Medical Clinic’s mission. All candidates should have a minimum of five years proven leadership, coaching, and relationship management experience. Concrete demonstrable experience and other qualifications to include:

  • Ability to search for and develop appropriate partnerships to pursue federal, state and local grants
  • Business-orientated
  • Passionate about community health
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills; a persuasive and passionate communicator with excellent interpersonal and multidisciplinary project skills
  • Ability to work effectively in collaboration with diverse groups of people

EDUCATION:

Minimum requirements – Bachelor’s Degree

HOURS:

Full time. Requires flexibility with hours to include some evenings and Saturdays

SALARY:

$80,000 – $100,000 contingent upon experience

CLINIC MANAGER

POSITION SUMMARY

As a Clinical Manager, you will play a pivotal role in helping FMC fulfill our mission of providing the gift of health to those in need. You’ll be accountable for managing the administrative and technical operational aspects of the Primary and Specialty Departments.

ADMINISTRATIVE

  • Oversees functioning of all patient care and clinics
  • Provides direct supervision of staff to include performance reviews, staff competencies, maintenance of license of staff, managing staff time
  • Coordinates with other FMC operations to ensure efficient workflow and optimum patient care coordination
  • Coordinates clinical team meetings to include the Medical Director and Executive Director
  • Develops and manages clinical operational budget
  • Recruits and supervises volunteers as needed
  • Reports on outcome and process measures
  • Creates and develops clinical policies and procedures
  • Facilitates in maintaining, coordinating care, and developing clinical pathways
  • Trains new staff members on electronic health record (athenahealth)
  • Monitors data collection for grants
  • Coordinates with the NPs and Pharmacy to order supplies

CLINICAL (As needed)

  • Assists NP as needed
  • Administers medications as needed
  • Monitors for accurate charting utilizing electronic health record software
  • Addresses lab and test results with providers and patients as needed

QUALIFICATIONS & REQUIREMENTS

  • Associate’s Degree in Nursing, and 5+ years of proven clinical management experience
  • Ability to deliver high quality customer service to internal and external customers by communicating with integrity and compassion
  • Ability to be flexible, adaptable, calm, and build productive business relationships and thrive in a fast-paced environment

Preferred:

  • Bachelors of Science in Nursing preferred
  • Bilingual preferred

SUMMER INTERN: Business Development Intern

The Free Medical Clinic seeks bright, talented and intellectually curious students to support its vital community health efforts. As a volunteer intern you will have the opportunity to gain hands-on industry experience in public and community health while being exposed to challenging projects and learning from experts.

Responsibilities

  • Conduct research on potential clients, opportunities and new initiatives, partners, and/or competitors to support business development as well as strategic planning for the FMC
  • Assist with strategic development business planning
  • Conduct market research on potential “win” areas for future FMC expansion
  • Assist with concept and budget development

Qualifications

  • Has completed at least two years of college coursework
  • Maintains a GPA of 3.2
  • Excellent communication skills, both oral and written
  • Preferred background in public health, business administration, health care management
  • Ability to work at least 10 hours per week onsite at FMC. Remote working options available.

SUMMER INTERN: Communications and Marketing Intern

The Free Medical Clinic seeks bright, talented and intellectually curious students to support its vital community health efforts. As a volunteer intern you will have the opportunity to gain hands-on industry experience in public and community health while being exposed to challenging projects and learning from experts.

Responsibilities

  • Work closely with the Community Liaison Officer to improve FMC donor communications
  • Assist in the development of social media policies and procedures
  • Collect and refine patient testimonials
  • Assist in the development of a monthly giving campaign
  • Support the rebranding efforts of the organization

Qualifications

  • Has completed at least two years of college coursework
  • Maintains a GPA of 3.2
  • Excellent communication skills, both oral and written
  • Preferred background in marketing, communications, graphic design
  • Ability to work at least 10 hours per week onsite at FMC. Remote working options available.
